update manager won't clear after clicking install updates

Hello,
I am rumming lmde update 5.
I have 4 updates currently showing in the update manager.
2 for firefox and 2 for thunderbird.
When I hit install updates I get a spinning cursor and then it closes.
The Icon on the bottom tray still shows an I.
I refreshed and rebooted many times, still no luck.
Here is my current /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest testing main contrib non-free
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/security testing/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/multimedia testing main non-free

Also firefox is showing 17.0.1 default update channel.
How do I get the update manager to show it is up to date?
