Error messeage when updating through update manager - Bianca

Hi all, I get this error message when trying to do an update. Bianca picks up that updates are available, I click update, enter password and I get the following in a box with a big red stop sign:

An error occured: The following details are provided:

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.

Any ideas?

Sorry, should have mentioned I had tried and failed due to not being "super user"

Just did it again useing "sudo dpkg --configure -a" and all is good.
