Two issues with the menu system - Bianca

OK, please excuse the "Windows" speak here. Two questions on two of the different menu buttons you can add to the lower panel.
1. When using the start menu that just opens vertically with accessories / graphics / web / office / add - remove / places / system sometimes it opens as a scroller hiding some of the catagories and sometimes it opens showing all catagories. Is there a way to stop it coming up with the scroll tabs?
2. The menu system that looks a bit like the XP menu (with the catagories and the favorites) It has an "install software" button but I can't seem to find the Add / Remove button anywhere? I find the install software system a bit painfull compaired to the simpple Add / Remove button. Any idea where it hides?
