Stuck in a loop - Failed to load session 'gnome'

Hi All,

My Mint 13 just died giving me this error message - "Failed to load session 'gnome'".

If I reboot, I get the password box, then "Failed to load session 'gnome'", then back to the password box.

If I try the other reboot choices, the same result.

How do I break this loop and what do I do to fix this? Just re-install Mint 13?
