Hello, I just don't really like the video editor in Linux Mint (Brasero), I changed my Windows Vista to Linux Mint for Vista is lagging a lot! But in Linux Mint, you can't make videos like you can in Windows Movie Maker or Windows Live Movie Maker. So please Linux Makers, i think Linux is made in Finland, by someone like names "Linus" I'm just swedish. so please Linus and others like made Linux, please make a better video editor like you can make videos too, not only edit videos you have made. Hope you see it Linus! :D

Ok, to be series for a momento!

Linux OS (application) does have video editors available, but if they don't match your windows OS expectations, that's fine as well
--you should check them out: as I wouldn't necessarily consider windows media player to be in any way a professional video editor, unlike some Apple products for example (Imovie)

Linux choices..

And if it is Linus T. (not the cartoon) you were pondering, I would guess he has a filter for noise..

First thing to note is Brasero is a CD/DVD burning application not a video editor.

The above list covers most but kino for example is no longer being developed. A good source of info & links to sites is
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections ... ideo-tools

Following on, these are apps I have used, know about and all in the repo.

For simple cut and join, some basic effects and manipulation, plus format conversions Avidemux. Plenty of examples of use if you search.

Not mentioned in the list but rapidly becoming a decent editor Openshot. Plenty of effects, transitions, all the things that are considered a little non-professional. Web site is a bit of a pita but there are some example videos there.

For slideshows which can include video clips ffdiaporama a very slick interface.
For slideshows and very easy to use photofilmstrip. Do not be put off if you go to the website and find it in German. There is English there somewhere, sorry no Swedish.

All that can get you some video footage but if you want to make a DVD then you need to author one before burning.

For ease DeVeDe plenty of tutorials on the web.
A little more sophisticated is DVDstyler. Lots of info on their web site.

Then you have to burn the files, take consolation that I am not too keen on brasero either or the alternative K3b which is a KDE application and will pull in lots of dependencies but IMHO it is marginally better than brasero. What do I use? I spent a very small amount of money and purchased Nero-for-linux LOL.

hope this helps.
