Adding/changing items in the mintmenu

Postby metapy on Mon Feb 26, 2007 2:45 pm

I'd like to add my additional drives to the mintmenu places area. Ideally I'd like to remove Desktop and Trash then add my three removable drives to that area. I have been able to get the hight of the area increased, but it does not want to seem to take any new keys. I have tried editing the xml directly as well as using the preferences menu to edit this section. All attempts to edit this file are pretty much ignored, I was hoping there was a a way to make changes here, but it looks like there are some values somewhere I am missing.

I used the existing formating of keys like so:
Code: Select all

<gconf>

                <stringvalue>gnome-fs-directory.png</stringvalue>

                <stringvalue>nautilus --no-desktop trash:</stringvalue>

                <stringvalue>nautilus --no-desktop computer:</stringvalue>

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

You need to edit the py and glade files for this in : /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintMenu/

(be careful though, you're basically changing the code of mintMenu, so fork it for updates not to overwrite your changes)..
