Running currently a brand new stock 64 bit Mint 15 on an Asus N56VJ-DH71, i7, 6GB RAM. According to a closed bug report in kernel.org's bugzilla, a >= 3.11.5 kernel some fixes are in for function keys on several Asus , et al, laptops.
So, I got the headers and image from Ubuntu's kernel ppa for saucy. when running dpkg on them I got this:
run-parts: executing /etc/kernel/header_postinst.d/dkms 3.11.8-031108-generic /boot/vmlinuz-3.11.8-031108-generic
Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 3.11.8-031108-generic (x86_64)
Consult /var/lib/dkms/virtualbox-guest/4.2.10/build/make.log for more information.
Checking that file shows:

So, I'm naturally, a little worried about the state of the modules for this. I haven't seen any posts in here about building other kernels, or issues with such. THought, I'd post this see if anyone has ideas. I'm going to go down the rabbit hole and try rebooting into the new kernel and see what misery lies in wait there.
