Can't return menu items

Hi there,

I have a problem, suddenly items disappeared form my menu:

-apps
-system > administration

There is an option in linux mint to change the menu layout.
Here you can chose which items you want to add in your menu, you should simply mark or unmark an item. I noticed that the disappeared items that are missing are marked as 'show ; no'. The solution will be to mark the little box in front of the item.

But this doesn't work. I can't chose 'show this item' by adding a mark in the little box in front of an item. the mark just won't appear.

I have tried to drag the items to the menu in the left, but this doesn't work too.

Have the same problem but with the rather unimportant category "Games" (There are a few simple games included I beleive)
Will do some troubleshooting and report back if I figure something out.
