Long Time Support

Are there any Mint versions newer than 13 that have long Time Support. If not, will there be any in the future?

Linuxmint-13 is the current LTS (long-term support) ... the next LTS will LinuxMint-17 due out in Spring 2014.

LM17 will be LTS? Could you explain why, since LM13 will be supported for the next 3 years. Thanks.
