Memory leak?

Postby rozojc on Tue Mar 20, 2007 10:36 am

Hi everyone. I recently installed Mint and am having the following problem. When I leave my computer idle for about 15 minutes, the use of the processor goes to 100%, and I can see and hear the hard drive working all the time. If I just leave it like that, it goes on for about 20 minutes, and then it goes back to normal. This is happening to me, any ideas of why?

I think it might be Beagle indexing the hard drive or something like that, and actually I ran dmesg after one of those times when it went back to normal, and it seemed to have been running beagled and to have killed the process...

Does anyone know if it might be beagle, and if it is, how to solve it? Or am I completely wrong and it is something else? I really need help as the system is quite unusable in this state (I mean, I just can't be unable to use my computer for 20 minutes each time this happens).

The following is the last part of dmesg having run it after it went back to normal:

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Ooops, should have researched more...

My mistake, sorry... I should have done a better research. Apparently it's a confirmed bug for the version of beagle used in Ubuntu Edgy repos...

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/beagle/+bug/64326

Seems I'm going to have to uninstall it until they update to a newer version...
