For Login? Try Menu > Control Centre > Users & Groups
Unless you mean the pasword for an encrypted disk, whch would be Menu > Preferences > Disks

Open a terminal.
type: sudo passwd
When prompted for your existing password, enter it. Hit the ENTER key and follow the prompts for setting up a new user password.

Yes, that's correct behavior. The terminal displays nothing while you type in a password. Just type it in and press Enter.
