I have a website for my business which has a brochure with a map (http://www.oldmanleather.com/MapFlyer062308-a.pdf). Today I clicked on it in Linux and the brochure shows up but not the map. When I open it in Windows, the map is there. Do you have any idea why this is happening, and can you recommned a remedy?
Thank you,
BoDill

Re: Something missing
I see the map with Mint 17.1 KDE.
Firefox opens it for me in an external viewer.
Depending on your browser, it could be the pdf support built into it.

Re: Something missing
It works for me in 17.1 Cinnamon using Chrome and Chrome-beta.. I see 3 columns, 1 with 2 images and accompanying text, 1 with boxes listing the type of work you do and 1 with your address and the map.
The good news is that it seems potential customers can see it, the bad news is, beyond checking the settings on your PDF viewer, I don't know what to suggest, sorry.

Re: Something missing
I can see the map in Opera and Chrome, but not in Firefox. I think the ordinary way to display an image is as a jpg or gif, not as a pdf. Maybe you should change the image to a jpg, which is compatible with all browsers.

Re: Something missing
Thank you all for your help and advice. I didn't know about the difference between PDF and JPG.
With that said, simply by Googling "PDF to JPG" I see several sights that tell you how to change from one to the other. Since my shop is open now, I probably won't get to try this for a couple of days. When I do, I will post the results.
As you can guess, I'm not exactly a computer whiz, but the people around the world who use Linux have always been very helpful, and I appreciate it VERY MUCH!!!!
