How to enable the "root" account

This question gets asked a lot ... and it was already discussed several times. So for all those people "too lazy" (I'm just making fun here ... no insult intended! ) to use the search function (just making fun here. As we have found out by now it's sometimes hard for inexperienced users to operate the search function so that it would produce reasonable or useful results for them ...
