Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

This topic was already under discussion and several people mentioned that it hoses the system

Funny that you in the very same thread warned against this??

I guess you're out of luck now ... Image

You could try this as root (maybe you have to put "sudo" in front of this command?):
Code: Select all
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-org

If that doesn't help I suggest you reinstall. I personally installed Ubuntu 7.04 on a spare laptop and I quite like it :D (except the stupid brown theme of course which I had to replace with something blueish ... )

Try This

I also upgraded to 7.04 and my Mint wilted. I recovered by replacing the xorg.conf file (in /etc/X11) with a backup. I then power-cycled my computer and everything seems to be running.

I did receive another large batch of updates after my "fix". I have not tried Envy as my display looks to be working well.

Hope this helps.

wouldn't it make mint a bit more stable for these lost souls to revert to edgy repos? :D
Windows is extremely fast after a fresh install. If you want to make it stay that way: - don't use it.
