How to apply this Alsa patch?

If you don't know what these files are and can not read the patch file below them I would stop now and look/wait for a deb package to be released that fixes your audio problem with an easy synaptic update.

these files are patching an existing driver and recompiling it, ie you have compiled the driver before and here is an update.

now don't shoot the messenger.

Sorry to say so, but in this case this topic is too advanced for you :D

Most likely you'd be supposed to be using those files with the patch program (please Google around) and then patch and recompile the sources - the presence of the Makefile seems to indicate that a compilation via the make command has to take place at one point.

This is fairly advanced stuff and I don't recommend this to newcomers. Better wait until they release the next (and patched!) version via the repos. :wink:
