Since I have been unable to restore my desktop Gnome Mint 2.2, I was wondering how my emails on Evolution are stored, how to save them so I can just overwrite the partition with either Gnome or KDE Mint 2.2.
So further question: If I save those old emails to CD, would I be able to put them into the KDE email software in KDE Mint or would I have to use Evolution again? I've never extracted old emails before and am not sure how this is done on any email client in Linux or Windows.
How do I back up Evolution email?

There should be a .evolution (please note the dot at the beginning!) sub-directory in your home directory ... Copy that (plus everything underneath it) to a safe location.carltonh wrote:I was wondering how my emails on Evolution are stored, how to save them

On my system, yes. This should spit out the correct location in any case:hairy_Palms wrote:is it .evolution
Code: Select all
find . -name *evolution -type d -print
