Is there 64 bit version?

Postby Red Knuckles on Sat May 05, 2007 2:55 pm

I'm building a new computer with among other things an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 4800+. I looked on the download site for a 64 bit version of Bianca to install and couldn't find one. Is there a 64 bit version of Bianca? Are there any plans to create one in the future?
Thanks,
Red Knuckles

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I think the answer to both your questions is no.
Sometimes in the distant future perhaps.
You should know that unfortunately you mostly loose more than you gain from 64 bit operating systems and dual core processors, due to the fact that the potential cannot be used. Programs are not written in the right manner for that...

Well that's not good news. Hopefully it will still be better and faster than the P4 in my 2001 Dell 4500S.

I kinda knew that. Plus it will give me more avenues to play/learn with.
