Linux will not run

Postby JERRY L DAVIS on Mon May 21, 2007 12:54 am

Linux Mint 2.2, 2.2KDE, ETC. WILL NOT RUN ON MY COMPUTER.

I reboot the computer and Linux Mint beginnes to run. The first screen comes up and I press enter. (I have also tried the second choice of safe mode)

The second screen comes up and runs for a few seconds.

Then the second screen goes away and and the next thing I get is a screen full of numbers.

I have tried running all versions of Linux Mint on my son's
compter and they run just fine.

My computer is a Pantium 4 2.80GHZ mother board. It has a standard floppy and two DVD drives one is a read only the other is a R-RW drive. I have two 150G hard drives which one is set as a ghost drive. I have 1G ram.

I am running a ViewSonic 21" monitor but by son's computer is running a simallar monitor.

I am committed to getting this to work!!! I have been in contact with a friend of mine who is the director of one of the blind rehab. centers for the VA. He wants to get all blind Veterans away from Microsoft and over to linux.

:D :D I intend to make this happen within the next year!!!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

what type of video card does your computer have?

It sounds like a video problem.

Have you installed Mint on either system yet or are you just running the live CD?

:D

Hi

Have you tried it in both DVD Drives?

That is what I get if I put it in my secondary DVD Drive

What is your motherboard? Has it got a jmicron controller?
