Beryl & wine glitch maybe ?

Postby g0lrk on Fri Aug 03, 2007 8:19 am

I use Ham radio software which runs on the micro$oft stable called MMsstv using wine and I have found a peculiar glitch. If Beryl is running I am unable to receive anything through the microphone in the computer as it sets it self up in wine as dsnoop:0 instead of the correct Analog Devices AD1988B. This sounds silly but it makes it so that the microphone does not receive the signal from the Ham radio. I have proved this by running Beryl and checking the wine configuration and then killing Beryl and doing it again, and it is correct when no Beryl. I wonder if this can be the problem that some people are having when the microphones are not working which you see on this forum and on other forums also ?
Makes me think of the times I have been having trouble with my microphone previously and if it was maybe that ?
