Vsync and AA

Postby Jack374 on Thu Aug 16, 2007 2:41 am

I've been trying to get beryl to work with my ATI card. I've been having some trouble with xgl. Someone told me to disable vsync and AA to fix it. I'm not sure how to do this and it seems like a question I should ask here.

Here is a link to my beryl thread. There is a screen shot of my xgl session

This is kind of a standard answer
ATI's proprietary driver won't work with AIGLX +Beryl. You should try XGL+Beryl instead.
The proprietary ATI driver does not support composite extensions and will not work with Beryl unless you are running under an XGL session.
You should try going back to the default open-source driver before messing with XGL.

Honestly I don't know where to disable vsync unless in the settings for the ATI card
Possibly not to helpful an answer - post back with info about your card and about when it works OK
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
