it is in the software portal via firefox.
http://linuxmint.com/software
you could install it via the portal which would download and install it with only a few clicks of a mouse button.
but to install your .run file it is similar as the nvidia driver .run file.
hope fully it is in your home directory.
open a terminal window: menu--> konsole
run the command
sudo sh ./temminous.run
enter your password and take the default answers.

when you click on the download for the software in the software portal you let it run the .mint file (it uses mintinstall) and not save it.
mintinstall reads the .mint file, has a pop up window asking you if you want to install the application, click install and the mintinstall uses apt-get to download and install the file. then it does a clean up when finished.
some applications require you to look at the details and agree to some EULA licence, eg acrobat reader.
and hay presto your application is installed.
go to the mintmenu and use your new application.

Hi!
Ok...Try to do this: Klick on the mint file - A "messagebox" will appear the *tata* klick on "install"....Wait....wait...'till finished. Then go kill all those nasty Aliens
Greeting K-.
If this mint-install fails just give synaptics a try >Go Cassandra.menu>install Software>then search for tremulous>install it->Go kill Aliens
Now tell me what happens when you klick on this mint.file? Explain I really thought that *mint installs are easy. (But to be honest the first *mint-install was kind of strange for me to, I thought that it would install the file by itself. Well I didn t realized that I had to klick the"Install" button")Just double click on the .mint file like a program.

Strange!? Give us a screenshot, of that mess!
However! Have you tried it, with the second method? With synaptic?
Or just C&P following the console:
And then go hunt Aliens

I don't know about the KDE interface, but in the Gnome interface if I click on the Mint Menu button I see an option that says "Install Software". Clicking this opens up Synaptic.
i searched for Tremulous, it was available through Synaptic.
It is possible that the other games you want to install are also available through Synaptic.
As a general rule of thumb, it's a good idea to try the package manager that comes with the distro you're using first. This will probably save you a lot of grief.

the software in the software portal can be from different sources/servers/sites than adept uses so adept will not list those software packages.
using the portal and mintinstall allows you to install software from sources/servers not used by adept (or synaptic).
adept is for KDE and synaptic is for Gnome.
multimediasupport.mint is only for people who have installed the light version of mint and there is not a light version of Cassandra KDE.
if you want to install western-quake3 why not run the mint file instead of saving it?
so if you have saved the mint file open a terminal window (konsole) and type:
sudo mintinstall ./western-quake3.mint
that is if you saved the file to your home directory.
