Hi!
I just installed Linux Mint 2.1 recently and am extremely pleased with it!! I like it much better than Ubuntu 6.10.
My question concerns the fact that each time I boot the system, when the network has finished being initialized, I see that the system has made a connection to the internet. I have stopped (I think) the automatic starting of the update-notifier, so I assume it is a connection out to an NTP-server. But I'm not sure. Maybe the update notifier is still running.
Anyway, when I cut the connection, it starts again within about 30-60 seconds! After cutting it several times, it seems to have "gotten the message" and no longer starts a new connection.
So -- how do I discover what is doing this and how do I prevent it from happening in the first place?!?
Thanks in advance,
-- Dr.U
