Programme defaults

Postby ambertone on Thu Jan 04, 2007 6:30 am

Hi all, love mint!

I need a little help. I'd like to make a few default programme changes. When I doble click a word doc I'd like Abiword to open it instead of OpenOffice.

When I insert a DVD I'd like Kaffeine to play it instead of Mplayer/ Totem.

Under System/ preferences/ prefered applications I can only find defaults for web browser and mail programme.

Under System/ preferences/ removeable drives and media I can find the default that points to totem but have no idea where to find the "EXE" file I need to point at to start Kaffeine.

Any help appreciated.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Out of my head it could be in a hidden directory in your home directory called .kde. Inside that directory their might be a directory which points to the Kaffeine player.
Just make sure you can view hidden files too by enabling that inside your file-browser.
