I wanted to record a CD in mp3 to then put on my mp3 player, Sound Juicer opened after placing the disc in the drive, I opened preferences and went through the procedure for setting up as staed in the help file and used Synaptic to install the gstream lame plugin. All went well and mp3 is shown in the Preferences/ output format. So clicked on extract and recorded the disc in mp3, the problem now is in playback all I get is a loud crack every so often no music. Sound is good is good if I record in ogg or just play a disc, any ideas?

Sorry. I have never used Sound Juicer. I have/do use grip and it works great. You can find grip in synaptic.

make sure you have lame installed
