choppy video playback on youtube.com

Postby timmyflight on Fri Jan 12, 2007 12:43 pm

Hi all, just wanted to say i'm loving Mint more and more every day!
Got a quick question.... On youtube.com the video playback is choppy,
the movie will play for about 5 seconds, then break off for about 3 seconds,
then play, break, etc.etc. Any ideas of what I could look for or settings
to correct this? I do have the driver installed for my video card, (not sure if it's 3D enabled.) Thanks much for any advice, Tim
P.S. I'm at work as I write this, so it will be later until i get a chance to
try anything on my computer at home :P

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

hi tim, if you have experienced this just recently, i think you are not alone, as alot of people have experienced a terrible slow down in youtube, including myself, which i normally don't encounter having a dedicated E1 (CIR) line. im just not sure what went wrong to google.

with your configuration, there seems to be no problem. how about your broadband? are you in the part of the world that is affected by the submarine fiber cable backbone breakdown in taiwan due to an underwater 7.2 magnitude earthquake just recently?

Hi, nope, no problems with my dsl internet here in PA, USA. I was wondering if there was a problem with flash player or something to make the playback choppy. :?

oh yeah, if you're in US there should be no problem with that. maybe you can install-re-intall your flash, and see if that will help...
