ati check version

i just tried installing the ati driver by doing this
sh ./ati-driver-installer-8.32.5.run
how do i know if its installed correctly?
my graphics card is a radeon xpress 200 integrated w/ mobo.
also should i use beryl or compiz which would be easier and more likely to work with my setup?
