Hi All,
What games are available via the Portal?
It seems that several have gone open source. Can you add them to the Portal?
I'm not much of a Gamer, but want to show this off to others, either with my Site, or Blog.

Re: Well - Games
I know there isn't much available in regards to gaming yet for linux, but I think the software portal should remove FakeNES because it is a poor emulator. Offering something like Snes9express would be better in my opinion. It's available over synaptic for anyone, but some of the newer users may want an easier approach to getting it. Also the addition of Sauerbraten would be kind of cool.
Re: Well - Games
Hi All,
Games seems to be the final frontier of Linux. I'd like something cool, but don't no what. There must be a good central location to trial free games.
Basically, if you want to be a Gamer buy an XBOX or something else. I'm not really interested in buying these things.

seba,
Thanks for that - I've book marked the site. Now that I have great graphics (NVIDIA) going off my H-P Notebook I have found that games are interesting. And, keep playing around.
Recently, I ran across a cool site that took HALO one-step further, and has added dialog to the game. It is here @ http://rvb.roosterteeth.com/archive/. It is a time waster to be sure. But, I like the effort.
Again, thanks for the post!

Re: Well - Games
I've tried a lot of these free open source games and I'm sad to say that a lot of them kinda suck. It really does hit home the fact that there's a big difference between an amateur and a professional game developer.
Specifically with all these open source FPS games I find they are all a throwback to Quake 3 style death matches which feel really dated these days compared to modern objective based team based FPS multi players we are used to today.
To be honest I think Open Source gaming is never really going to be a viable alternative to professional games, at least in terms of nice looking 3D games rather than Solitaire. What Linux needs is more native ports of pro games like Crysis.

Hi Guys,
It is the end of the year, and I always look forward to the "Best" out there.
In this case "Games". Here's a list of the "10 Most Addictive On-Line" Games.
You can find it here @ http://crave.cnet.co.uk/gamesgear/0,390 ... 453,00.htm
What I am looking forward to is the "10 Best Linux" Games.
Happy Holidays!

My bad....I meant NESticle. It works way better than FakeNES.
Re: Well - Games
Hi All,
I did run across and interesting collection of Linux 3D games, and posted them here http://jjmacey.net/blog/2008/01/04/linux-3d-gaming/.
Question: Is any one running a Linux OS, off of a game station?
