Now I got a question and I am the one needing help ...
As you may know I work for a certain company (sorry, can't say who ...) and now my boss there wants me to create "marketing material" about all the Open Source products we support (many!). Could be PDF, could be Word documents, could be PowerPoint presentations. Could even be a video clip or something like that.
Let's suppose I do a PDF ... Now the big problem for me is: What do I put in there?
You see, I am a tech support guy, I usually don't deal with this marketing BS.
The reason why I have to do this is because we want to create something that would appeal to techie people, geeks, nerds, and those who have had enough of Windows and who'd be willing to switch to Open Source if only they could be convinced that they will get good support there as well .. .
So if I may ask: Imagine you were an admin or an ex-admin and now a manager at a company (someone who decides over IT and tech stuff in the company) and you are considering to switch over to Open Source, you'd even be willing to pay for 24 x 7 support, and all that ...
would have to be in that PDF (or any other material) so that you'd at least take a look at it and not just throw it away? Technobabble? Nerdy geek talk? The usual marketing blablabla with the usual lies ... ? A mixture of all that?
What would you want to know? What would appeal to you?
I am grabbing for straws here and I'd be glad for any suggestions and pointers
Sorry if this is too off-topic
