Linux Mint had been working fine for me for the past months. I love it. But these past 2 days, the system has been freezing after a few hours of use. I do not know what is going on. I have been forced to remove the power source from the laptop to be able to shut it down. This has caused something to happen to Gnome cuz it showed an error saying it didnt load right, that themes weren't gonna work, etc. I rebooted, all "seems" fine. Any ideas what has been going on?
Apps I was running on both crash/freezes:
Deluge BitTorrent
Firefox
Mercury Messenger
I use ndiswrapper.

Re: System Freezes
Which version of Mint?
Firefox could be the culprit it has been known to cause freezes recently.
If your Linux (no matter which) freezes do this
Press Alt Gr and Prt scr/SysRq keys at the same time and keep pressed.
Key in R E I S U B
and - voilá - you computer reboots safely

Re: System Freezes
The more recent versions of the nvidia drivers have the reputation of generating freezes. I downgraded succesfully to version 9643 to get rid of these. my video card is a 7300GS
