If you haven't already, run winecfg from a terminal. This will open up the wine configuration tool where you can configure many of the settings in wine. There is an option to autodetect drives. Hope that helps.
I tryed that already and I am getting error messages basically saying that my cd-drive is unreadable. I switched from ubuntu to linuxmint and been having loads of problems.
