wine help

I seem to be unable to get wine to recognize my cd-rom after the program is already installed (reader rabbit) can anyone help me fix this?

If you haven't already, run winecfg from a terminal. This will open up the wine configuration tool where you can configure many of the settings in wine. There is an option to autodetect drives. Hope that helps.

I tryed that already and I am getting error messages basically saying that my cd-drive is unreadable. I switched from ubuntu to linuxmint and been having loads of problems.

I have wine running on Linux Mint (Barbara) I am re-playing Deus Ex, so I can confirm that it works as advertised. First go here: http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Main_Page and download the IEs4 script, it will make the whole process of running wine easier, additionally, there is a lot more help and info on wine here: http://frankscorner.org/ which may help you..

One solution is use something like deamon tools does such a thing exist in the repos?

daemon tools is for mounting iso files

I thought I could copy the disc onto the hard drive and use the hard drive as a "cd drive"
