I cannot save directly to usb drive without first saving to tmp folder. Is there a way that I can save directly to usb drive? The filing structure is not as flexible as windows. Is that a trade off for security?

In Firefox, Right click on download, select save as; the default saves on desktop. click top rollbar click on
"Browse for other folders", scroll to Media folder. open folder, in my case my USB drive shows up as Sda1, select, Sda"x"
or whatever your USB drive shows up as and save.
