can't minimize/maximize in beryl

Postby timmyflight on Mon Feb 05, 2007 6:46 pm

Hi, I'm having a problem minimizing/ maximizing with beryl installed.
When I open any program, it automatically goes to full screen, and when i click
on the minimize box, the screen remains full size, although the minimize box is displayed. Any ideas? Thanks much, Tim

ok, I got that figured out, I had to resize the windows, now the minimize and maximize correctly..... but now whenever I start beryl (applications>system tools> beryl manager) the computer instantly freezes up, I have to do a hard reboot. Anybody else experience this?

can't minimize/maximize in beryl

Hi Tim
I have that trouble, but if I close all windows before switching to Beryl, everything works fine.
This is only on one computer the other one works
fine so maybe it is something to do with chipset?
Hope that helps-Nick
PS this happens in Suse as well on that Computer

Hi Nick, the freeze up happens whether there are any windows open or not.
i don't know if it has something to do with the video card or not, it's a nVidia geforce 6100 ( I have the driver installed through envy). Tim

Hi Tim
I also had that trouble using the official Nvidia
driver installed by Envy and removed it.
I had to install the nv driver instead before
Beryl worked properly, My chipset, Nvidia 6100
also :)
Also Google earth would never work with official
Nvidia driver, but works fine with nv driver
