My Mint desktop is glitched

I installed the AMD/ATI Driver for my ATI Radeon 5670 and now I get graphic glitches. The characters on the bottom panel and the Menu aren't displayed correctly. I see blocks and glitchly characters. Is there a way to fix this?

I tried restarting my computer and installed all level 1-2 updates and it was not fixed.

i have the same problem. With a fresh install (where i directly updated the AMD drivers) for my 6300 series "gpu". Now i also get a glitched window.

linux mint 12 64bit
E350 cpu & amd 6300 series graphic card

on 6850 on mint 11

not only is there tons of garbage that doesnt update or sometimes flickers

but also any video games or videos that play even when another window is above them, they flicker thru it

i cant run video in fullscreen at all with compiz, (without compiz i get the above mentioned problems)
