I am a 22 year old computer professional/semi-professional musician. A little less than five years ago I switched from Windows to Mac OS X to avoid Vista, and while I enjoyed the switch I ultimately found myself still a bit unsatisfied. For a while it seemed like my only choices were either a clunky, bloated, unsafe and unstable OS (Windows), or a shiny and polished but locked down tighter than the pentagon OS (Mac). So it was that, about three years ago, I started doing research into Linux, when eventually lead me to Linux Mint. I was slow to pick up Mint (or any other Linux distro) for various boring reasons I won't go into, but I kept my eye on it and watched it grow. I actually became so Mint obsessed that I converted two of my already Linux using friends to it. Finally, this week I built a new desktop computer and though I had to have Windows on it for business purposes, I successfully dual booted it with LMDE and I couldn't be happier to finally get to try out the OS I've had my eye on for so long!
Look forward to getting to know Mint and the Mint community, as well as the Linux community at large!
