I've been an Ubuntu user since 9.04 and switched to Mint 12 and it's a great os, I dual boot with win7 but find Mint does everything i need it to. I recently tried Maya and although it works great on my netbook. it did not alike the dual monitor setup on my desktop. I plan on starting a new topic when i have more time if i can't figure it out myself, for now it's back to Lisa. Anyway, loving Mint, and looking forward to using it for a long time.

Hi Printerwiz, welcome to the Linux Mint forums :D Thanks for joining the forums! And, erm, can we call on you for printer related questions?

Be sure also to check out the Community website (ideas, tutorials, and hardware and software reviews). You can also chat in real-time with other Linux Mint users. In the Mint Menu, in the Internet section, start the application XChat IRC. You will automatically get connected to #linuxmint-chat for general chat and #linuxmint-help for support with other Linux Mint users.

I don't mind printer related questions if you got 'em. I mostly service high volume printers and wide format plotters, but I'm also trained in office equipment, network integration, and certain print controllers. I use Mint 12 everday at work dual booted with xp, which is great for field work, you should see the faces when i print test pages. I'm using it for my htpc/file server hooked up to my big screen in the den, I used these forums to get the turtle beach sound card working via spdif. My netbook is running cinnamon and I wanted to upgrade my desktop also but ran into problems with the dual monitors and started a thread http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=103555.

Thanks for the tips and the welcomes, the chat was next on my to do list, nice forum you guys got here.
