Hello.
I just installed LMDE XFCE Version yesterday, and I am very pleased. I just changed over from Lubuntu.
Boot time is a tad slower, but it could be because of the grub menu.
I find that Linux is easy to learn, but that the nuances of each distro is what must be overcome.
I tried a live version of one distro featuring Openbox as its Window Manager. I forget which distro it was, but the developers put an animation in the Openbox menu that annoyed the #$^% out of me, and while adjusting menus and the appearance of Openbox is easy, I didn't want to spend an hour Googling for an answer that tells that I should Google for an answer, when I just did, while offering a link to a 5-year-old article, and in the meantime I'm having a seizure trying to figure out how to mellow out the menu.
You can't remove Internet Explorer without damaging Windows, and you can't remove "Cowsay" without removing "mintsystem".
Still, I'm so glad to be away from Microsoft!
