After looking for a linux adapted to my desktop and notebook, i'm happy to arrive in this active community.
Sorry for my bad english, i will do my best.

I use Linux Mint Maya Mate for my desktop and just found Linux Mint Debian XFCE for an old Asus eeepc 701 (4G).

In the Mint Menu, in the Internet section, start the application XChat IRC. You will automatically get connected to #linuxmint-chat for general chat and #linuxmint-help for support with other Linux Mint users (or to #linuxmint-debian if you are on LMDE, for support with other LMDE users).
