Hello

Postby linbig on Sat Dec 29, 2012 12:59 pm

I would just like to say a quick hello to everyone in the "Linux Mint" spectrum (users, developers et al). I have returned after being distrohopping for quite a while.
Mint has turned into a very polished distro IMHO, I have been mainly using Puppy Linux, which is absolutely brilliant for older pcs, but, having been given a Dell Optiplex 745 sff I thought I would try a more "mainsteam" distro on it and so here I am.
So far so good everything seems to work ootb.
I am using Mint 13 xfce which seems to run very fast on this pc.
Here's to a happy experience with both Mint and this pc!

I also used to hop a lot... But Mint is the cure to my «hopping disease»!
I recommend you upgrading to Mint 14 (fresh install is better) XFCE if you can/want. Mint doesn't break their new releases as some other distros do :)

Welcome. Enjoy your stay.
