Hi there !
Typically I start using a distribution and don't say hello directly so I thought I'd make an exception for Mint.
I have used many other distributions and never really taken to Mint but for some reason I thought I'd give it a go again and it's really rather enjoyable.
Ok, everything's built on an Ubuntu base but to be honest I really wouldn't mind if LMDE was the only edition. CrunchBang is now built on Debian directly and none the worse for it. I think Mint could do the same with LMDE. You could do with updating the LMDE wallpapers though.
Incidentally, the name comes from one of my favorite sweets Aniseed Imperials, released as a mint but possibly technically not a mint.
