Hello All
I am a real Linux newbie and have just installed Mint (MATE) on my old ex-WinXP notebook I bought from Lidl six years ago (Targa Traveller 812 MT30)! Now I am slowly getting used to the differences - so far so good, but the computer is a bit slow

I am a retired ex-Uni lecturer in Electronic Engineering (enjoying retirement much more than work!!) and also Radio Amateur (not very active)

I look forward to learning much more about Mint and Linux. I am sure the experiences will help me do some interesting things with the Raspberry Pi I got a few months go

Best Wishes to Everyone from North East Scotland

Thanks to everybody for the warm welcome to the Board. I'll take me some time to find my feet as I am using Linux for the very first time.

And apologies to catweazel - I don't have the Gaelic even though the BBC took all its' radio stations of Freeview in the evenings to make bandwidth available for Alba TV... opps! a bit political .. sorry!!

With Regards
