Hi everyone,
Seeing as I have just installed Mint I thought it best to register on these forums as I may be
spending a bit of time here.
I have migrated from Windows 7, so far I am very impressed, the 2 downsides I have found so far
is the hassle trying to access other files on my home network pc's and pokerstars won't install.
More reading required on my part I believe and if I can just get those two issues sorted out, then from
the look of things I will definately be using Mint permanently from now on. Would rather not return to
Windows if I can help it.
Regards

Re: Hi
Hi there,
I just had the same problem with pokerstars not installing (mint 16 cinnamon 64bit on thinkpad T61)
I found the problem to be that the software manager installs wine 1.4.1 by default.
Installing pokerstars with Playonlinux also defaults to wine 1.4.1 and also crashes wine during install.
However, http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=2899 gives a wine 1.7.8 requirement for pokerstars.
After removing my older wine, I installed the latest wine version per this website:
http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/201 ... ntu-linux/
After this, Pokerstars installed without a hitch.
Hope this helps.
