Hello, everyone!
I'm almost ready to make the switch from Win' XP to Linux. My Kaspersky software expires at the end of June 2014, so I'm hoping that Mint 17 Kde will be released by then. I've had no trouble running Mint 13 Kde LTS (live dvd) in my ten year old machine, so I have my fingers crossed that version 17 will run just as well.
I'll be sure to post again if I need some help with anything.
Thanks.

Welcome Xanadu. You're right - Mint 17 KDE should be final by mid to late June. It's in testing right now http://community.linuxmint.com/iso.
