I am who I am...and well, my name is Peter, I come from Poland. And I wouldn't really like to say I prefer German to ENglish but wouldn't be far from truth Just kidding.
Windows made me bored, I'm willing to experience something new, and I really see the point behind using terminal, only after a few tries at home, basing on a well-written pdf coursbook.
I hope I won't succumb to the temptation of moving back to win, though I didn't unistall it, it's on the other laptow I owe. I wish you alle the good

Re: Hello!
Welcome to Mint family. just curious, which edition are you running? (Cinnamon, MTE, KDE)
Re: Hello!
I've chosen XFCE, it appeals to me, it's running very smoothly and looks quiet nicely, I'm really not into flashy things and so on...simplicity is what I value most
I've got a Toshiba Satellite with 3gb RAM and intel pentium dual core, 2.53 GHZ. I guess I could have chosen KDE as well, but it was a well-though decision. I'come acorss a piece of advice somewhere that it's usually good to stick to one desktop environment. At the beginning I installed the MATE-version, it was good as well, visually of course, it was just a few days before the official XFCE-version was released.
I'm happy to have something new which I can explore

Re: Hello!
Cool, whatever suits you best. Mint packages all editions well, so you're good wherever you're. I choose Cinnamon because of Window tiling and snapping features, which are kinna must while using 24 " monitors like mine.v29 wrote:I've chosen XFCE, it appeals to me, it's running very smoothly and looks quiet nicely, I'm really not into flashy things and so on...simplicity is what I value most
