Hi from a newcomer to Linux

Postby Davey123 on Tue Aug 19, 2014 4:09 pm

Hello everyone, I'm a newcomer to Linux from Windows XP.

This is not only my first visit to this forum but also my first post! :) I bought a magazine with the DVD for Linux Mint a week or so ago & have been toying with it ever since. After only ever using Win XP, since it came out till MS stopped providing support, I find this OS rather challenging. I will need to ask a lot of questions on how to fix things so they work for me.

You'll probably be seeing a lot of me in the coming weeks!

Welcome to the Mint family forums

there are not many problems for which a fix hasn't been found and will be in the help forums somewhere, if you need to ask a question please give the full description of the item [eg .. hp 4080 printer] and the problem, if possible please also cut and paste the result of terminal command inxi -Fnx

thanks
