Hello all,
i have been trying out various distros for about a year now, and keep coming back to Mint. The community here is friendly and helpful, the distro rocks, and so I have finally wiped Windows off all three of my comps and am having fun using a computer again, instead of chasing errors, virus/malware, and the other nonsense that comes with MS. Thanks for being here to help us newbies. I use my main computer fo gaming, the others for web browsing, email, amd record keeping for a homeless ministry I am involved with here in northern Camifornia. Mint handles all those tasks, and more, a lot more reliably for me than when I was running Windows. Be well , Jim Leonard

From a technical point of view it’s no longer tied to the Ubuntu schedule, so it could be released at any time, there’s no technical relevance between 14.10 and 17.1. Now, with that said, the 6 months cycle gave us rhythm and although quality and content dictate releases going public or being held back more so than dates or vague deadlines, the idea of a late November release is still there within the team and it helps us working towards that target.
