Hello ladyes and gents,
My name is Cosmin ,i'm 21 years old.
Yesterday i've decided to install linux mint 17.1 ,my reason to do that was that i'm sick and tired of tons of comercials ,viruses and the inability to feel secure when you are on your desktop PC.
I'm a kinder garden newbie on Linux systems, untill now i'm enjoying it at the most.
I'm from Romania ,a country that is pretty full of thiefs and peoples that doesen't understand why their life is miserable.
I hope to get along with you guys ,and i really hope that you guys will bear with my stupid questions on threads ^^ .
In the ending i whant to add,
Linux Mint is refreshing for my eyes <3.
Best regards ,
Defective.

From a technical point of view it’s no longer tied to the Ubuntu schedule, so it could be released at any time, there’s no technical relevance between 14.10 and 17.1. Now, with that said, the 6 months cycle gave us rhythm and although quality and content dictate releases going public or being held back more so than dates or vague deadlines, the idea of a late November release is still there within the team and it helps us working towards that target.

Re: Best Regards.
Hello, Defective, and many welcomes to this refreshingly cool world of Mint. It's a wonderful move from the planet of viruses, popups, lockups, and mysterious unexplained events that happen on other operating systeMS with frightening regularity.
I don't think you will have any stupid questions. First look through the forums to see if your question has already been answered in another thread, then if you can't find anything there, ask away. There are some very helpful and knowledgeable people around here. And they tend to be friendly, too!
Whatever you do, you cannot go wrong using Mint!
Enjoy!
