Hello Everyone!
Like most of you here, I sought out an alternative OS to the old versions of Windows, that I grew up with.
I am not completely new to linux, but should be considered by everyone, as an extreme Linux novice.
I have had a couple of instances of Trusty-Tar, and one instance of the old Zoran Linux.
I must admit to struggling with the previously mentioned distros,
but surely,
I feel fairly confident that I have found a Home with the Mint Version of Linux, and, I am simply Loving it!
I cannot be of much help on the, "How To", of things, but I do wish to learn, and become an active member of the Mint Community.
I also wish to take the time to show my sincere appreciation and gratitude,
to those of you who have worked so very hard, to produce the extremely stable, Linux Mint 17.1.
It has been working Flawlessy in conjunction with a dual boot setup, along side of Win. 8.1
I am am of 53 years, and was brought up on a Tobacco Farm in the rural southern USA.
This background did give me the confidence to take on new things,
so here I am,
enjoying my new copy of Linux Mint, and again, I am very Thankful for having it, and to those who made it possible.
And Yes, Luther Loxx is an alias. I do not wish to use it to do anything underhanded, malicious, or mean.
I only use it to provide at least some level of annominity, while on the web.
Very Happy Linuxing to each and every one of you...!
(I am approachable, so if anyone feels the need, you can reach me at; lotloxx@gmail.com)
Sincerely, Luther Loxx

From a technical point of view it’s no longer tied to the Ubuntu schedule, so it could be released at any time, there’s no technical relevance between 14.10 and 17.1. Now, with that said, the 6 months cycle gave us rhythm and although quality and content dictate releases going public or being held back more so than dates or vague deadlines, the idea of a late November release is still there within the team and it helps us working towards that target.
