Post by Toe-knee »

After one hell of a of getting Linux on to my comp I managed it! Also the forum didn't let me onto the website none of my logging in details were accepted. All sorted now and hopefuly no more problems. What i do need is a to get a registration code connect to the chatroom (From within Linux Mint, launch Menu->Welcome Screen and click on Chat Room) and ask for a registration code. Thank you for reading and thank you for the code when I recieve it

The registration code is for registering on the Community website (if you want to post tutorials, reviews, ideas, or comments there--it is not a support channel!); and you get it on the Linux Mint IRC channels by asking about "registration code".

If instead you meant you registered a nickname on the IRC channels, check your email--registration activation link is sent on your email. It may end up in your spam / unwanted email box with certain email providers.

From a technical point of view it’s no longer tied to the Ubuntu schedule, so it could be released at any time, there’s no technical relevance between 14.10 and 17.1. Now, with that said, the 6 months cycle gave us rhythm and although quality and content dictate releases going public or being held back more so than dates or vague deadlines, the idea of a late November release is still there within the team and it helps us working towards that target.
