Hello from England

Post by evenadam »

Hi there,

I've been dipping in and out of linux for a while now, and finally landed on linux mint. It seems to be the most stable and hassle- and bug-free distro I've tried. It's a pleasure to use, so I'm hoping to participate in the community. :D

Welcome, evenadam! Glad you have found Linux and especially Mint. Be patient to learn the ins and outs of this great operating system, and you will not be disappointed. And the price is right! :)

Unfortunately, I think I will have to take back what I said about "hasslefree". I attempted to play a game today and now I can't log into a graphical session.
EDIT: Mostly resolved my gaming issues, so I'm happy again.

From a technical point of view it’s no longer tied to the Ubuntu schedule, so it could be released at any time, there’s no technical relevance between 14.10 and 17.1. Now, with that said, the 6 months cycle gave us rhythm and although quality and content dictate releases going public or being held back more so than dates or vague deadlines, the idea of a late November release is still there within the team and it helps us working towards that target.
