We have a Community site http://community.linuxmint.com/
For real-time help there are IRC channels,open MintMenu>Internet>XChat and you will be automatically connected to #linuxmint-help and #linuxmint-chat

Linux can be as rewarding as it can be frustrating. Just remember that you can never read enough. Read about how things are supposed to work and ask lots of questions. This forum is very newbie friendly. Also don't forget about the IRC. If you open xchat from Mint it will automatically put you in two great channels. One is for chatting about linux mint in general, and the other one is a help channel where you can get specific questions answered (most of the time).
